Default Recommended 300B and supplier?

Hi - can anyone recommend a good current supplier for 300Bs. I've just started using a WAD 300PSE again and think I need new valves. Currently have some TJ Mesh plates, but sources for them look expensive now. Are EH Gold grids the recommended inexpensive option and if so are there any recommended suppliers?

Try Hotrox, http://www.hotroxuk.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=300b

I had EH 300b golds in my amp for over 5 years. They are very decent for the money. Not heard the TJ's so I do not know how they'd compare... but at the very least you'd have some decent new valves to compare or keep as backups=)

Hotrox also sell the non-gold version EH's, but I've not heard them either, sorry. I'm not much use=)

Yep, I agree. EH Gold Grids are an excellent valve (I use them) despite being comparatively cheap. Don't go for the cheaper non gold grid version as they sound dull in comparison. Hotrox is a good source and in the UK. They do a matched quad for £236. There is an American ebay seller asking £52 each but you will then have the expense and hassle of importing. Keep an eye out for Chinaarts on ebay. He's not trading at the moment but used to be the cheapest source of gold grids from Hong Kong. I paid £140 for a matched quad from him a few years ago although his prices have gone up. He is a good reliable trader and when he is trading, he's cheaper than Hotrox.

Has anyone heard from hotroxuk in the last 2 weeks - I had to send back one of these 300b with a failed heater and now I get no response; want to check they are still there.

Hi, Not been for a while but I can drop by in the next few days to see if Mark is there or on hols etc. If he's on Virgin cable though, like me, mine was off all yesterday after the thunderstorms so perhaps drop him another email later today.

I did get through to them today - and they promised to phone me back on Monday when the service department is open. Thanks for the help.
