So knocked up a test prototype Board
Using 10/15k in Series got 24.5k
Pot set at mid point gives
L. Channel 23.2k R channel 22.7k ish
So now, circuit checks out ok fitting the pot to WAD CF I then notes that the CF Alps volume pot is a 50k not a 100k like I thought bugger
Give it a go anyway Colin. You'll at least get an idea if its going to solve your balance issue.

Andy.

Will it still work
i thought the single liner pot had to be about half the log volume pot value so lin pot at 25k and log 50k

I'd give it a go anyway. But thats me.

I'm on the cusp of cannibalising an old valve integrated that has an array of Japanese Noble concentric pots. I think the log volume pot is 250k. You'd be welcome to it but I can't vouch for its quality sound wise.

Andy.

Hi Andy
Thanks for the offer of the 250k pot But it’s a 50k concentric I need just want to try this single pot method first as it would suite the idea of a stepped ladder pot if I go that way or just use a shunt pot
PS anyone know what type of screw is in the WAD volume Knob or is it a Allan key can’t see in the wee hole

Hi Colin, you need a 1.5mm allen key, the grub screw is 3mm. BOB

Could I change the 50K Alps volume pot and replace with a 100k without losing too much gain?

It will make very little difference at all Colin, in fact I doubt you will notice it. If you can't find an Allen key, give me a shout, and I will put one in the post. BOB

Jumps for joy it works
So replaced sorry lashed up the 100k with the 50k single balance pot gain seem unaffected
But seems to sound a bit thinner in the mid to top regions but this could be my ears or maybe its the SS Nad Amp i am using to test with will have to live with it and see before fixing it in proper
