no worries Bob.

I have what I need I reckon anyway.
I found a cheap source of new PCL86 and search showed they have 13.3V heaters @300mA (originally meant for use in a 300mA string in tellies etc).
I figured they will be fine at 12V and I did find an article on a single ended PCL86 design that suggested just that, 12V heaters will work. As the mains here is never below 240V and my 12V transformer is rated at 230V on the primary I reckon it wont be far out.
I can buy 10 PCL86 for £20 including postage so thats me sorted!
