How well does the KEL84 deal with TL speakers?

How well does the KEL84 deal with TL speakers?

I've been interested for some time in the IPL Acoustic range of DIY kits. I know the efficiency is somewhat low at about 88dB, but has anyone any direct experience of the pairing?

Hi Richard, the KEL will drive 88 dB to a good sound pressure, I had one driving 86 dB with no problem, as for the IPL's of today, they all use ribbon tweeters, I built the smallest TL years ago, this had a domed tweeter that I mounted in an aluminium housing on top of the cabinet, it was good, but moved them on, later I built the same, but with the ribbon tweeter, they did not work for me.
