I used 4% silver solder with Satcure, no problems. Didn't really find it fiddly either, but maybe I was just lucky.

I've used 4% silver solder too the only problem I had when soldering was that when I got the wire hot enough to burn off the enamel insulation the silk covering started to burn away as well.
Your soldering technique may well be better than mine so you may not have the same problem and I did have the same trouble with the cardas wire too. Since using both the cardas and satcure I have read on the the Diy asylum that you can use some tweezers or small pliers held just behind the area to be soldered as heatsink to stop the insulation melting back so next time that the method I will try. |
