Room size and speaker size do not necessarily conflict. We have installed HB3s in rooms of your size before without problems. At the moment we have WD25T working in a demo room very similar in size to yours and they sound great.

Much more depends on how the room is constructed and what furnishings it has in it. As I pointed out in an earlier post in this thread you really do need to break the open walls up with bookcases, alcoves and so forth, as well as soft furnishings, to get away from the pure cube-like space which encourages standing waves.

Mid and HF drivers in my HB3s have been replaced, but the woofers are still the originals which must make them some 22 years old - I guess it could well be that they are showing their age (just like me). The room is, I thought, pretty well furnished but now that I look at it again most of the furnishings are in the back third, I'll have to do some experimenting. Bookcases??? Then I'd have no excuse for having all my HIFI World magazines and CDs strewn all about the place , my wife will love that idea!!
One other thing about building a hifi/media room, don't scrimp on the powerpoints. We have 16 outlets in this room and all but two are used, and when I finally restore the turntable I have those will be used to. Nothing more infuriating than spending a small fortune building a dedicated listening room and finding your short of points and everything is coming from the switch box off a single cable.
