WD25T completion- a review
Fantastic
I built the cabinets myself. the cabinet kit was within my budget but i enjoy the building process of WD almost as much as the finished product, so i thought i'd give it a punt. its not a particularly tricky job but as with any woodwork, re-reading of the plans and a few good tools is essential. A sheet of veneered mdf costs about £65 and i got enough decent cuts for my visible surfaces.i got the sawmill to make most of the cuts when i bought the sheet, saving me time and money and grief - they would normally charge around £2 per cut but felt obliged to help out. the trickiest and most potentially disasterous task is rebating for the drivers.i found this helped http://www.woodworkingtips.com/etips/etip102000sn.html.. i scored all cuts on the veneer with a stanley blade to prevent chipping and applied and sanded all the edging prior to construction. this was my first proper woodwork project and i'm happy with my results even if they are a little 'rustic' they have been up and running for just under a week and they appear to be supplied with a box of smile tokens whenever a new cd is popped in the drawer. swmbo loves how they look and i will give the last word on performance to her. she could care less about my hobby, but after listening (to her leona lewis cd) came to the instant conclusion that they were far better than the tannoy 611 they replace, and in one word described them - 'effortless' |

Re: WD25T completion- a review
cheers cobblers
there is one up on the gallery. my photos are too big and i dont know how to shrink them down. as i appear to be the first to post a WD25t pic i'll swap it. if anyone is interested in 'exact' sounds i'll happily oblige. personally though i'm more of an 'i know what i likes' kind of bloke. i can say that some of the talk of lack of deep bass are unfounded, there is oodles of the stuff but with real definition. kick drums are a pleasure to listen to and vocals are smooth, sweet and with great range. to say that they are 'fast' is selling them short a little. dynamic is a far fairer description. i think ultimately they suprised me with their 'real worldness' and they really seem like the perfect partner for a valve amp. well done peter |

Hi Muffinman.
Have had the WD25T's since 2006. They are the dog's soft bits, but I think "effortless" does sum them up. |

Hey Muff.
Just looked at your photo and the 25's are looking good. So too the anti burglar devices (trip wire and comedy door). Andy |

Re: WD25T completion- a review
Hi Nice looking speakers.
My WD25A sound superb so the tall ones must be excellent. Have you put the vent port in the back? There is one on the WD25T isn't there? |

Re: WD25T completion- a review
Hi Bj.
The vent in the WD25T is into the lower part of the cabinet and not to the outside. |

Thanks systemx
Only I thought I saw one on the catalogue photo but on closer inspection I think it must be the WD Logo Cheers J |
