Default diy turntable strobe

Hi All from rainy Hampshire

while looking for a wheel to drive my diy turntable - am thinking of going idler drive/direct - I cam across this

http://www.vinylengine.com/diy_strobe.shtml

I have not checked the vinyl engine yet but is there some one out there that could make up the pcb's.
also could we look at making a group parts buy etc?

Rob

Hi Rob,

Have a look at this thread on WAD.

http://www.worldaudiodesign.com/foru...ghlight=strobe

I built one and although not a quartz locked device, it's very good and cheap and easy. I know Neal has gone off his, but the secret is to have it calabrated wich James did for me. Mine remains bang on acurate and a very useful tool. All parts available from Maplins.

Best wishes,

Greg

Dropped straight in to my old version case, its accurate and does not drift. The duty cycle is shorter and it gives a crisper view of the stobe marks. Not bad for £5.

One of my old (bicycle) cycle computers has an R.P.M. counter function. If I put it on my Rega3, 45 is nearer 46. But 33 is 33.333. Dont know how accurate it is, but I think it cost about £4.99! If the speed is wrong there is not much I can do about it any way.
