Default Would like to build tube amps again

I have not built a valved amp since the Practical Wireless days, around 20 years and I would really like to build a class A amp again. Can anyone recommend a circuit I could work from. Not wishing to tread on anyone feet but I would like to do this for resale purposes or is this an area I should not venture?

Webwizard, if you had taken some time to hunt around this forum you'd have realised that there is not alot going on here at present so your question is likely to not be answered, albeit if you hunt the forum history, you may find something you like.

Actually, no disrespect, you're being lazy. There are shed loads of circuits out there on shed loads of forums and other sites. Get on and find something that suits what you think you are looking for..........don't you think?

I would be extremely cautious about the resale aspect. Selling objects with high voltages and temperatures contained within fragile structures is fraught with danger both for your customers and for yourself.
I'm not saying it shouldn't be done, but it should not be entered into lightly.

Thanks you for your reply. Note taken, but I have worked in the electronics industry for a good number of years including working for Hawker Siddley who manufacture high voltage transformers and switch gear for the national grid etc.
I also worked for a number of large electronic companies for the retail sector so I have a good understanding of this industry (in the manufacturing sector not the retail side).

Plus I plan to fully enclose everything for safety reasons. Also, I may get a design engineer to draw up some schematics, overcoming the copyright issues etc .

Yeah but really - would you worry about the ramblings of anyone called Sid Snot? I don't think so. You know how HT tingles so you will be careful. Ignore Greg, its the best thing to do in general, but consider ... there is tons of stuff out there on the web. A valve for everyone, maybe you are just looking for some valvely chat and chumminess, not unreasonable though very dubious on this BB as teh geezer who runs it keeps banning peeps and shutting things dow..........

Greg,
Your manners are leaving a lot to be desired. It would be nice if you moderated your language for a start.
Telling someone he is lazy doesn't help the situation whereas pointing him in the right direction does.
This thread is staring to degenerate into a slanging match so please control yourself.

John

No Greg, I am not condescending and I have said something to wizard completely different to you. (It would not even be condescending to politely point out to you that you don't spell 'hypocrite' like that).

Let the reader decide; so that's okay to bull about in a china shop with a 'robust attitude' as you describe good old Greg's attitude. We have to soak up this utter lack of humour, sensitivity and intelligence and accept what you say because you are right. Ha!

I had forgotten you don't do humour or much of the above so all I was suggesting was that perhaps wizard just wanted to chat with a few like minded chaps and not be shot down whilst crossing the first hurdle.

Can't remember which rule I'm infringing here, so apollylogies to one and all.

Gentlemen desist.
I don't wish to delete this thread as it doesn't help, but your attitudes do give webwizard a very bad impression of this forum, especially as we are going through a rather difficult time and really need fresh blood, ideas etc.

Webwizard do please carry on asking questions here, and in other parts of this forum, as there are still a lot of people who are prepared to help and point you in the right direction.

John

Sorry John, you are right.

Now then 'Wiz', what size of valve are you looking for? weedy ancient DHT or mahoosive transmitter valve. SE or PP? how much power do you crave?

We can do them all!
