Default Speaker Confusion

Hello all,
I have been trying without success to get a set of speakers to "sing" with my valve amp and cd player. I can acommodate stand mounted or floorstanders and have tried many designs and although some sound very good indeed I am tempted to ask someone to build me a set or is it a major job building one's own?

I listen to everything apart from classical.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dave,

Speakers are such personal choice. However, I have several designs that are suited for valve amps and none you will find in any commercial highstreet shop. I can also build you any pair of speakers as long as plans are available.

You are welcomee to come over to Rossendale for a listen.

I'll send you a PM with contact details.

David, a visit to see Colin will be a very good option for you.

His quality of workmanship has to be seen to be believed, and I'm sure he will have a design to suit your needs.

Thanks Phil and Greg for the vote of confidence.

I have been in touch with David and he will be coming over to my place the first week in January to review my Edingdlae speakers.

Having seen these on another forum he reckons they could just be what he has been searching for.

So fingers crossed hey

These are the speakers in question:

Nice one Colin.

Although I have not had the privilege of hearing those speakers in a domestic environment, friends who have (and whose ears I trust) say they sound superb.

Yep, they do. I could happily live with a pair of these.

Hi Colin and Greg,

Are you both still doing the Bristol demo? I am still interested in listening to these.

Nigel,

Yes the weekend review is on but as yet I'm awaiting a suitable date from Greg. The intention is to have this sometime in January when all you Bristol area guys can make it.

I'm sure Greg is working towards getting some date(s) fixed.

Regards
Colin (Toppsy)

Just spotted this thread - I agree with Ali, the Edingdales sound excellent in a domestic environment, and I too could quite happily live with a pair
